Hi everyone,

sorry if if this has been covered elsewhere but I couldn't find it searching forum.

I am am right at the early stage of our journey and looking at how the high school system works in aus. My son has just started grammar school here in the uk and is really doing well. Im trying to get an understanding on how the aus system works in comparison. We may be looking at coming over hopefully just before he starts year 10 GCSE or after year 11.

Any advice ice would be much appreciated.

Steve

The simplest solution if you can manage it is to be here for the start of year 11 and year 11/12 make up a two year course and completion gets you the WACE certificate

From 2015 year 7 became the first year of HS rather than the last year of primary school. There are a lot of private schools in WA, but private doesn't necessarily mean better and there are good public schools that out perform some of the private ones.

I would agree and would even extend that to saying that I would have them here for year 10. I found that the school based admission to the subjects in year 11/12 on their performance and grades in year 10.

Agree - my son's ATAR were recommended on the basis of how he was doing
