welljock
Cheers @welljock …. so how long was it from the time you said " ill have it " till moving in ? was that 3 weeks ? Not exactly sure but it was less than 2 weeks. It may have been as little as 8 days.
HoneyJackMonster
From viewing to picking up the keys it took 3 days, but will depend so much on the agent/landlord

Rossmoyne
@pegg it can be very different with each rental. If the previous tenants are still there you will have to wait until they vacate. It used to be that landlords/agents would wait until a property was empty to re-let it, but with the rising number of empty rental properties and less renters looking for a rental, some landlords/agents are starting to advertise the property before the sitting tenants have vacated. So it could be as quick as 2 or 3 days or as long as 3 or 4 weeks or more. Which of course means that the rental market is good for the renter at the moment. In the street I live in, there are two rental properties... 1 has been vacant for months as the landlord is asking a higher rent than the market will accept.... the other was let within a week as the landlord was more receptive to current market rents and accepted an offer from the renter that was below what was advertised. Definitely a renters market these days, and there is much more available than there was a year ago, and at lower rents. Mind you it could take a few weeks to find a property you want to live in, in an area you like! ....... and you are now on the next step of your new adventure!
