Hi everyone,

Ive been looking for a Shotokan Karate Club around Baldivis/Rockingham but cant seem to find one locally. I know that not every club will be on the internet and wondered if anyone has seen any flyers or know of any. There are other styles locally but this is the style I have experience of.

I fancy getting back into it and loosing a bit of weight!! So the wife tells me anyway!!

Have you looked on some of the local Facebook pages as this is where most local groups advertise.... Also I know this is a bit out there, but where I live, the local small shopping centre has a community board where you can advertise anything for sale, or if you are looking for work etc, and I have also seen ads for various local sport/craft/gardening clubs etc.... Not sure if your local shops that anything like this, but if they do, perhaps check it out.

Did you have any luck? I wanted to ask the same question, only I need it for kids...

Hi, yes I did!! I found the best club in Mandurah, don't know if that's close to you? Jim and Aileen Wood run the Wood Dojo on an industrial est not far from town.

It is the same style of Karate (Shotokan) that I used to do in the UK but it is much better run and MUCH more friendly, great for the kids as they are so nice to them. They push them to train hard and perfect the art but do it in a way that does not put them off or scare them.

In the UK my 7 year old did not want to go full stop!! but I took her to one of Jims classes to watch, the next time she took part and now she wants to go every time now!!

If you need any more info let me know,
