School advice/ help please!

nothing beats visiting the schools and getting the general feel, it is hard to choose from overseas. also it depends on your child - are you looking for a University pathway or not, what are their interests? We picked my son's high school as is dyslexic and they had a great learning support department and he was in to music and drama and they were one of the top schools for those subjects. Two things that can help in term of looking at statistics however are -

https://www.myschool.edu.au/

This has all the NAPLAN results for every school in WA - like SATS, tells you about school finances, how many no English speaking kids etc etc. Put in the suburb and all the schools in that area come up. Click on a school and go to NAPLAN - results in numbers. If there is no red then the school is average or above for Australian schools, red means below. Lots of factors affect the NAPLAN results but this can be a starting point.

For high school and more complicated to follow is this - http://www.scsa.wa.edu.au/publications/reports/statistical-reports/school-comparison-statistics

the results of the Year 12 exams in WA listing the top schools. Last year the Baptist College only had 33 students in Year 12 which means they would have been very limited in the range of subjects to choose from and a bigger year 12 is better. Their results are not reported which suggests that no one got above 65% in their exams - not a good result. This page also lists all the subjects taken and the top schools in each subject - so if your child wants to do e.g art then you can look up the top performing schools in that subject.

Be kinda of a long way to drop them off at Altona since they will be living in WA!

Actually dont think they would be very impressed with Daycare since they are 10 and 13!
