In the UK I am a Management Systems consultant specialising in Energy and Environmental Management, ISO50001 &14001. Also, as an associate contractor, audit third parties and run training courses in these areas for a global (Australian/UK) certification body in the UK and Europe. I wondered, given the experience and knowledge of those in Perth already, what the likelihood of finding work in that area is for me, as it is quite niche. With the changes to the 457 visa, i'm not sure how this will impact on spouses if they are only eg. on a 2 year temp visa if this will put other employers off? Employment in WA is in a bit of a down turn, we've had members post that they've struggled for work and others that have got work relatively easily. If you're looking to teach - you may need to explore any certificates you'll need here (I know a friend had to get some to teach at TAFE), as her qualifications from the UK weren't quite enough.
