Help!! 475 visa

Hi,

Has anyone got any advice??

I have attempted to start an application for state sponsorship, we would prefer a 176 as this gives you permanent residency & u arnt tied to a region however I am under the impression that a 176 takes longer to process than a 457???? although if anyone could shed some light then I would really appreciate.

Also on looking through the application for a 457 it gives you the option to select the region for which you want to go to. It gives a list of the regions eg, wheatbelt, kimberley, mid west, south west etc but i'm not sure what suburbs are in these regions as to be honest i've never heard of these regions!! we have even been to perth & I have no recall of ever seeing anything about these region names! I understand these regions are for the whole of wa but it is perth that we wanted to go to so I am unsure about what region I need to put down. It says you have to give details about why you have chosen this region aswell!! I have looked all through the internet & cannot find much about the regions of wa, I need to know where I can find something to say what suburbs are in what region!!

I am so confused I didnt think it was this hard to apply for regional sponsorship!!

Also it says that if your a british passport holder applying under a trade occupation (my oh is a plasterer) then you only need to claim competent english you dont need to accually take the ielts test but you need to provide a copy of your passport biopage however on the section on the application about the ielts test it says if you are a uk passport holder put 6 in each field to claim competent english but then you have to put a date in for which you took the test?? it wont let you go any further with the application either until a date is put in! I just dont think it has been made very strightforward, unless its me being completely clueless!! now beginning to wish I hadnt got rid of by agent!!

Please can someone give me some advice if anyone knows anything.

Thanks

Hayley

Hi Heyley,

The 457 visa is for employer sponsorship, you cant just apply for one yourself as your employer has to first (or at the same time) lodge the sponsorship, check out this link

457 visa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So basically you need to be offered a job in Oz before you can get a 457.

If you are unsure about the type of visa you require then I would recommend consulting a visa agent, athough they do cost alot of money!

Hope this is of help

Karl
