Advice on how to start the migration process!

Hello my name is Nicola and I live in Surrey in England.

I would like some advice regarding emigrating to Perth. I am 25 years old and currently in my 2nd year of a 3 year Nursing Qualification course and have been working as a Health Care Assisstant at my local hospital for the last 12 months.

I have always hoped to live abroad while growing up and feel that qualifying as a Nurse will definitely help me achieve that. However, when I

was 18; I was convicted of Theft and therefore have a criminal record.

As it was 8 years ago and would be over 10 years ago when I qualify as a Nurse, does anyone think it will be a problem when I want to apply for emigration to Perth (my preferred choice).

Also, when is the best time to start the ball rolling for my application? I hope to qualify in July 2012, would it be beneficial to start asap?

I look forward to any advice given.

Thanks

Nicola

ps: Does anybody recommend any good Migrant Agents?

Hey, Thank you for your reply.

I live in Guildford. Are they a good company to use? If you dont mind me asking: when did you send your application and when do you intend to move Down Under?

I hope you dont mind me asking you questions. I am trying to find out as much as possible.

Kind Regards

Nicola

hi nicola, we have always found them a good company, can't say there the best, because they are the only ones we have used. I don't think there the cheapest, but they are local , which is handy for taking forms and if you need to go and see them. We were going to do the application ourselves, I'm glad we didn't as we would of applied for the wrong proffesion on the skills list if we hadn't used them. We started the process in September 2009, and had the visa application lodged 4/12/09, its takes this long to get all your paperwork tpgether and get your skill assessment lodged and returned. we lodged a 175 visa, and started at priority 4, as soon as we got the skill assesment back, we applied for state sponsorship, this took 5 months to come through, which took us to priority 3, we are know on the western australia smp, so are know priority 2, so we are just awaiting a case officer, we should be granted a visa within 6 months maximum. Your best bet is to go and see john at immigration2oz, its free to go and see him, he will tell you what your options are, hes MARA registered, so if you do not have any chance of getting a visa, he has to tell you, so you won't waste any money, so if I was you, I would go for chat and see what he says, you not tied to using him and at least you'll know what your options are. hope this helps
