Guest Hayley
Im sick of waiting!!!!!!!!!! does anyone know how long its taking for ss to be approved?? I have to say I am sick of checking the emails! we have been going now since dec 2009 & I have just about had enough!!! I thought skills were wanting in oz???? I understand its the backlog but we have still got to sit in diac queue when or if we get approved by ss! This is all our agents fault, if he had told my hubby to do the aqf iii when we first started instead of 2 failed tras we might have been allocated a co by now!! he is supposed to be an experienced agent but didnt know that in 2007 tra decided that trades people should have 5 years formal (thats in college or uni) experience. Anyone in the right mind would know that most trades people only have practical based experience & would have to do the aqf iii in order to pass tra. This cost us 10 months of valuable time & we decided to get rid of our agent & my hubby did the aqf iii then passed tra.We have now gone straight to a 176 after waiting for a few months for ss to reopen as everyone we know on a 175 is having to wait 18 to 24 months!! that would just send me over the edge! We submitted our ss on 22 dec 10 & are still waiting to hear whether it is approved before we can send it to diac! I am so frustrated, I know everyone feels the same & some have been waiting longer than us but we just want to get on with our lives. Our kids are getting older & making friends all the time, we are also living with the in laws as just waiting to go!!!!! Please hurry up!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry to rant everyone!!!!!!!! Guest Hayley
Hi John, It took around 2 weeks for a tra outcome after submitting the application form to them as after doing the aqf iii you apply under pathway e. You still have to send some evidence though references etc. We have decided to go for a 176 we have been told 12 months from the date of lodgement,we were told this by an agent based in oz & its also on the diac website. Its the 175 thats taking 18 to 24 months. I agree with you we cannot wait 2 years either we are ready to go now! We are still waiting for our sponsorship application to be approved by wa government thats been 5 weeks so far!! Its one big waiting game!!! Good Luck Hayley

Guest Hayley
Thank u!!!! Hope fully it wont be long now. Just wondered do diac contact the employers at all for clarification? My hubby was a self employed plasterer but has been employed aswell. Have u been through that stage yet? My hubby has passed an aqf iii & obviously tra has passed him so shouldnt be a problem but we didnt think that we would have to send all the evidence again. We have to get them all certified again as tra kept all the previous ceritified copies!! I am surprised by diacs application form as we sacked our agent & are now doing it ourselves. Its never ending!! Hayley
Guest Lynette & Mark
Hi Hayley Yeah we're passed all that stage now and No DIAC don't check out the Employers for clarification at all well they didn't for our stuff. Yes all stuff that u send to DIAC has to be certified copies, did u not keep photo copies off all the certified stuff that u sent to the TRA???? Cause if you did you can use that stuff. Also whom ever is certifiying your documents etc, get them to do a covering letter stating who they arre, what their occupation is and how long they've worked in their position and on headed paper which should have all contact details clearly seen. It is a bit of a pain having to upload everything again to the application but once it's done that's it, it's just a case of front loading Police Checks and Medicals. Anything else ur not sure of just give me a shout, u have my e-mail addy. Lynette XX
