Guest Lucy G
Hi all, Our SS states we need to transfer A$40,000 to an AU Bank & I just wondered whether we need to have this exact amount & if you didn't have that amount would they check up on you?? My husband does have a job offer so we it is our intention for him to start work fairly quickly so we didn't really consider having to save that much money. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I know I have asked this already in another thread, sorry patience is not my strong point! Thanks peeps, Lucy :goofy:
Guest sparticus
Hi Lucy, not sure, but if they say you need it then you may have to prove it, could you borrow it to show proof then give it back?
JaseandAnne
Hi Lucy, We have just got our SS through and they have set ours at $75,000!! I did ask if to finalize the visa they would need to see the money and was told that if your money was tied up in assests that you intended to sell to emigrate then they would accept valuations. However on reading the government information when you actually migrate it appears that you have to transfer the money across. This is to ensure you have enough money to support yourselves if it takes sometime to find work. Like you guys though, if we sell our house, cars etc in the current climate gonna struggle to raise that exact amount! Jase
