eweasel
Hi Whinging Pom, We are just at the start of applying for WA SS based on my husbands trade as a Metal Machinist. He also completed a 4 year formal apprenticeship together with a BTEC and HNC in Mechanical Engineering. If I could pick you brains for a minute could I ask if you used an agent or went alone in your applications ? We have just completed the TRA assessment request and based it on Pathway A as he has done the formal apprenticeship - is this what you did? Congratulations on your visa and wish you a fantastic move to WA - v jealous we have just come back from 3 months travelling in Oz and are convinced WA is the place to be :-)
whinging pom
Hi,i did use a migration agent as there are so many things you need to do to fill in the various forms. It is more expensive, but it takes most of the hassle away as the agent does all the hard work. You may have to do what seems like an endless paper chase, but when your visa is granted you will realise it was worth it.
Guest Doozclump
Congrats on the visa, i have my TRA from 2003 and my SS from WA, just waiting on a few bits of paperwork to come from previous employers and i will be submitting my 176. I am also Metal Machinist and would love to see how you get on with the job hunt. When do you think you will be moving?
whinging pom
Hi mate, don't know when we will be moving at present, but we're going over in october to activate the visa and have a good look around. Then when we get back we'll have to see how quick the house sells. Good luck with the visa!!
