Hi

OH has been offered job in Perth and another in Melbourne. I have posted ? re: Mebourne on PIO but would like to do the same here re: Perth.

Can you advise on what Perth is like Is there alot going on in terms of entertainment for children - We have a 2 year old and a 5 year old?

How easy is train travel throughout WA - Are there many trains?

Basically what I am asking is Perth or Melbourne ??

Hi from what i have gathered wa is way more laid back and family friendly , this from most Australians i have spoken to ( im a hairdresser ) we have only lived here so cannot answer , but yes we find it good with a 4 year old . nice weather , beaches , parks .. you have to really do your homework where you want to live subburbs etc or hills more countryside they are very different even ones next door to each other .

try posting on www.pomsinoz you may get more feedback as its a bigger site and a bigger audience if you get my meaning ! all the best .

Heard a lot of people say that Melbourn is too much like the UK - never been so can't comment. Perth is laid back (some would say backward), but that's it's charm and it's not over populated. We've found public transport to be reliable and cheap (my friends hubby is a bus driver in QLD and he said it's cheaper here).

We've found it to be a great place to live
