JaseandAnne
So, After 4 half hour stints, some early hours, some early morning, I finally got through to the Skilled processing center in Adelaide. Very nice guy told me that he was unable to see if my application had arrived as they were only just starting on March's post!! He didnt even ask my name to check? I realise that they are busy and a lot of people from lots of countries apply for visa's of all diffrent kinds. They never replied to my email I sent two weeks ago which is why I have been phoneing. Am I the only one who thinks that the process and application is very expensive and as such a bit more customer focus wouldnt go a miss. I realise they are very busy and must get loads of phone calls (They must do, the first 3 attempts I put the phone down after half an hour on hold). But all I want to know is, is my application there? Its dropped off the post office tracking system here in the UK, never to emerge again on Aus Post tracking system. The guy did tell me that this is quite common and they would probably get to my application (if its there) in 3 or so weeks. The 3 month time window that you have to send back your state spnsorship with you App number is fast approaching, I just hope they allow for delays at the process center!!!! I dont mind if it takes 12mnths plus to process I just want them to have the application and know its there, and that my families details and my credit card details arent in the hands of some organized crime gang who as we speak are cloning our identities!!! . I'm sorry my last couple of posts have been rants!!! Let hope they can only get better! Jase
verystormy
This is normal. In fact i am surprised they are opening March post already. Last year they were reported to be 4 months behind in just opening post. As for how long it takes is variable on the exact visa and the individual circumstances but i would be very surprised oif you had it in 12 months. More like 2 years min
JaseandAnne
Yes, I know it can take a few years although some skilled sponsored visas were reported to be taking 8 - 12 months to process. With the current housing market in the UK I don't mind if it takes a couple of years, give the market a chance to pick up (or drop further!!) Just want to know that my application is there!! Its the post office I'm really annoyed at, whats the point in paying the most you can pay to (supposedly)safe guard your paperwork then you can't track it!!
