ali
I thought that the employer applied to sponsor you, then you made the application with their employment details .... but not 100% as we came on independent skilled visa http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/employer-sponsored.htm
Guest Guest4182
Hi JBW....we came on the same Visa....and most of the hard work is done by your company sponsoring you.....you will need to collate the information that they ask for as and when, and you will get informed as to when you have to have your medicals....we went to a place in Manchester for them, xrays etc.....Its all quite straightforward really....we came on a 457 Visa for four years, have been here three and in that time we applied for permanent residency and got that last year....we can back date our citizenship too so we can become citizens next year....yippppeeee....life is good downunder.....we miss silly things, familiarity...fish and chips, next, M&S.....but not the weather, the lousy hoodies, the grim grey skies.....the traffic, the queues, NO dont miss any of that.....!!! Any questions you have about your Visa 457 dont hesitate to ask.....it certainly happens very quickly with a 457 Visa.....so get ready to be swept off your feet!!!! Guest johnboywalton13
I dont know what to sayEnglish rose but thank you and you are so helpful!!!! Its nice having guidance that has been through exactly the same.Yes i am looking so forward to the different way of life as i have three daughters aged 10,7,5 and just want the best for them.I am quite fortunate though that i will be working for the same company im working for now and they say they will apply for visa etc but didnt want any nasty suprises, thinking i was ready to go and then something put a stop on it.Well Rose keep in touch and thanks once again. It is also nice to know how welcoming everyone is as i think it will be harder for my wife and children as when i do start my job im going to be working away from home for weeks at a time and want my wife and children to gain friends quickly which im sure they will. Guest Guest4182
Thanks for the kind words...if I can help just ask me!!! It will be daunting for your wife and kiddies at first, but kids are very resilliant, its us adults that find it hard to adapt...you will be ok with you working for the same company, as my OH did the same thing....I was lucky because I have family already here, and was very familiar with Perth...but your wife may find it difficult at first....school is one of the best places to meet people, and the areas you are looking at have huge english populations (so lots of people who have been through the mill with the whole migration thing).....you need people like that from time to time to just confirm to you that when you are doubting what you have done, they will assure you that you have done the right thing, it just takes time to adjust.....its a whole new life here, and its hard to say goodbye to the life you are leaving....but if you can get your mindset sorted that you are only a plane ride away from friends and relatives, then it helps to adjust quicker, and they can come for lovely holidays, once you get settled.....I still have times now when I wonder what it would be like to be back in dear ole blighty....but I think I know which side my bread is buttered!!! Enjoy!!!JBH and if your wife wants to ask me anything....please feel free!!!
