Strange, my first thought was "OMG, this is really happening". Is this wrong to think that? We have looked at where to go for the meds, we can either make a day of it in London or drive to Brentwood.

Am I right in saying that my eldest daughter (13) will have to have an x-ray but the youngest (9) won't. How longs do the meds last and is it an "intimate" check:eek: if you know what I mean.

Not sure on the x-rays for minors. I can tell you our medicals (in Manchester) took around an hour for the two of us. And weren't intimate. Urine sample to check for diabetes, some questions, eye test, height and weight measured, blood test to be sent off, some joint mobility tests, chest x-ray. Nothing too involved or that could be classed as "invasive" or "intimate". Expensive though!

I don't think under-11's need the x-ray, but best to check. Your documents should tell you - if they need the x-ray there are two forms required (the 160 and the 26) - the 160 is for the x-ray.

Where do you live? I'm heading to Maidenhead as they seem the cheapest - Brentwood bizarely seem the most expensive

Hope that helps

Fantastic news, congratulations!!!!! :0) I think it is realistic that your initial thought was 'OMG is this really happening', even though we all know that the move once we are settled will be what we want for ourselves and family, however it is probably one of, if not the biggest move of our lives, so it is completely understand to feel nervous and anxious as well as overjoyed.

Good luck with the medicals! I'm petrified for mine, I'm so overweight, scared they are going to be horrible to me and fail me :0( xx

Going to spend the weekend printing out loads of forms, what joy. I didn't even think of price difference on the medicals, was there much between them, as every penny does count. I live on the border between Suffolk and Essex so a train to London is easy and jumping in the car and driving up the A12 is just as easy. Mind you, used to live in Amersham spent time in Maidenhead on many occasions, so I suppose I could go there. Bloody decisions, god help it if I have to start choosing flights and clothes.

As for the medicals I am CACKING myself and the O/H is having his last sloppy burger this weekend before we start the diet and get fit regime
