Guest NeilEB
It doesn;t work - you can't just convert Aussie prices to £'s unless you are a tourist. You'll be earning in dollars, so you need to get used to that way of thinking. It's why wages are so much higher out there, to take into account the cost of living. (Although nanas still seem ridiculously expensive) Edit: Oops that was meant to be in reply to thesalmons, not you goat :-)

Guest guest1228
they only cost that much because of recent devastating floods etc.....they were $1.99 a kilo at one point last year, varied from that to around $6.99 a kilo but never more than that so a real luxury for us at the minute
Guest thesalmons
I know its so sad about the floods, we had friends that were effected by the floods and its understandable that things have to go up in price too.
Guest thesalmons
Chocolate Fudge Brownies (tried and tested and all gone) 250g butter 275g dark choc (I used 50% cocoa solids though recipe said 70% and was fine) 275g caster sugar 3 large eggs 1tsp vanilla extract (real extract costs loads so I used imitation) 225g plain flour half tsp salt -Grease and line a 9'' tin -melt butter and choc over low heat -beat sugar, eggs and vanilla till fluffy -whisk choc mixture into egg mixture till combined -stir in flour and salt -pour into tin and cook on 180c or gas mark 4 until just set -leave to cool for 10 mins before tipping out onto cooling rack -dont cut till cold Thanks Fiona for the calorific but delicious recipe, I made them today and they went down a treat with the whole family. They are just so yummy and moreish !! I wasn't sure as to how long to leave them in the oven for, so I left them in for 10 minutes and did the toothpick test and seemed to be ok. Thanks again, ive stuck the recipe in my recipe book X
