phil
My girlfriend's been commenting that we need to let HM Inland Revenue know we've left the UK and we might get some tax back. I've found form P85 on their website. Anyone done this and care to share their experience?
Guest n00dlz
not sure Phil, i've had a quick look and it looks like the only form you have to fill in, http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/individuals/fgcat-leavingtheuk.shtml. Glad you asked the question, i'd not even considered it

deanhewitt
Hi Phil You can claim tax back depending on your employment status. Here is a link that you can put in your details and it will tell you roughly how much you will receive. http://taxfix.co.uk/
basicweb
Yes we filled in the form P85, and got a tax rebate wayhay!! Then about 6 months after we'd moved over here, they wrote and said we owed it them back boohoo, we paid it, then the end of the tax year got it back again wayhay!!! Don;t you just love the IR! The ATO over here is proving much better to deal with, you actually get to speak to a real person Tracey
