riboid
Hi there, looking at rented accommodation in Warnbro, just down from Perth. I have wife and 2 kids, aged 15. Just to get some feedback on how it is in this area, in terms of school, social life etc? Thanks Scott

Give me a break!
Warnbro is a nice area but mostly not as new as a lot of coastal places further down. It has a lovely shopping centre and all the major banks and has the Aqua Jetty which is a huge sports complex with gym and pool with flume and big outdoor pool. If you have a 15 year old there is more to do there than say where we are in Secret Harbour. There is a lovely English Themed Pub called the Last Drop. It does have more older tatty parts and more newer nicer parts so really you need to come and have a look for yourselves. OOH and yes dont forget you have the trains station and very cheap transportation to Perth and some Universities.
riboid
Hi Thanks for you two replying. It sounds ok. I have a friend who stays in NW Perth. Well a friend of a friend, so just trying to find out any decent areas for us to plank our proverbial backsides. Thanks Scott
gobbyjock
We rented in Warnbro when we first arrived, it is an older suburb, houses tend to have larger gardens than the newer suburbs. I liked living there though there are perhaps a few streets to avoid. As others have said you have the Aqua Jetty, good sized shopping centre, regular bus service, and the train station means you can travel to the city easily. It all depends on what you are after really, it`s not shiny and new as other suburbs but you do have a good infrastructure etc. I`d say have a good look round when you get here and make your own mind up. RobynMargarat
Warnbro I have written about before, if you look at the list of subjects under my name, a lot of the questions the newer members are asking have been answered... there are some nicer areas of Warnbro, closer to Curry Street, which goes from Safety Bay Road, all the way down through the middle of that suburb and finishes at Grand Ocean Boulevarde, near Port Kennedy. The area bounded by Curry Street, to Okehampton road, and Warnbro Sound ave, has some nice newer houses in, but it is about 15 years old. There is Warnbro primary school in Kingsbridge Road I think, (Mentally thinking the map ?) But there are newer homes in a social disadvantaged area, between Swallowtail , and Curry st again, built by Homeswest...(state housing) if you are class conscious. But drive along Warnbro Beach road & Fendam streetand you will find , more expensive houses worth more than
gobbyjock
Parkland Estate in Warnbro is nice- it`s near the top end - beach side down from Safety Bay Road. If You are looking for a new er home the Harrington Waters is just over the road and very nice, as well as being near the train station.
