Guest Doozclump Posted May 20, 2011 Report Share Posted May 20, 2011 we lived in Brisbane around 7 years ago and were given our tax file numbers, is this like your national insurance number in the UK and with you for life?, when we return to the Perth area next year will these numbers still be used and will we be in the system with them, should I keep them or will they just start a fresh with us with our new visa? thanks any help would be great. basicweb Posted May 20, 2011 Report Share Posted May 20, 2011 Your TFN will stay with you, the ATO will have a record of it, and you should be able to contact them to retrieve it.
