Guest Suziepops
Hi all We are heading to Perth in September and are now at the stage of finding accommodation/jobs. My partner is a carpenter and I work with social care. My partner has a son who's 22 who's looking into mining but my partners' Carpentry is the primary occupation in which we are entering Australia. We are at the stage of trying to organise temporary accommodation at a reasonable price. Some of the rents seem unreasonably high compared to here in North England. I did read somewhere that staying in a holiday village is an option. If anybody knows of such places to rent where my partner would easily find work please advise. We also have a 15 year old boy who will still be in school (passionate rugby player) so there is loads for us to consider. Thank you Suzanne
EVA
I think you may find the chalets in caravan parks work out more expensive. You will find plenty of fully furnished homes for around $550.00 per week in our winter and they increase slighty in Spring. Most will also include internet which is a must when you first get here. Have a look at www.elitevillas.com.au www.realholidays.com.au
basicweb
Hi Suzanne What is your rental budget? This may determine the area you initially go to. rent in the South seems to be a little less than in the North. Carpentry I should think would be in demand both NOR or SOR, as there is still a lot of construction going on all along the freeway corridors. AS for the Rugby, I don't know much about schools, but some do specialise ie Safety Bay High School has a 'Soccer Academy' Maybe you could find something similar for Rugby? So much to think about and so much to plan, but I'm sure you'll get a great response on this forum Tracey
Guest Suziepops
Hi Tracey Thank you for your reply, we've been looking at the north as it seems to have a lot of areas that are expanding with new buildings etc. We like the look of the areas around Duncraig and Joondalup, as for renting I thought we'd be able to get something for around 300 but it looks like most rents start around 350, we don't need anything bigger than 3 bedrooms, basically it's just to get us started.
