Hi...

As title says were looking for a rental, perth area N.O.R., around the Scarborough, Karrinyup, Marmion, Duncraig or surrounding areas to start mid November this year......were still based in UK, mid November is the time of our arrival in Perth.

We're a family of 4 (two girls 9 & 16).... me a carpenter/builder and the other half a prison officer......got 176 PR visa in MARCH this year and looking for a rental as;

Maybe furnished (depending on container timing) so maybe not essential

4 beds

2 bathrooms

Air-conditioning

Garden

Double garage & parking

Internet access

Pool (kids said I HAD to put this)

Near school for 9 year old

Near school for 16 year old

Near shops/pubs/parks/beach

We were thinking probably for 3 months initially, to get through xmas & new year but if the house is right in the right area and obviously at the right price we would be happy to stay on much longer.

Any info or help please PM me..........

Cheers

Carlos

Hi , have you looked at www.reiwa.com.au or www.domain.com.au or www.gumtree.com.au most i think are either furnished or not, more likely not .. so if you take a lease on with furniture you may come un stuck so to speak if your waiting for your own shipment .. also have a look in accomdation available section on here ..

All the best !

You'll have Togo for a short term rental furnished first, you then can look for an unfurnished this helps as you have an address for the rental agent and get a reference from the hol let landlord this helps , Scarborough is expensive for houses Mai ly apartments and they are predominately older houses , everybody travels here it's better to evaluate your situation when you are here and you can look around

Thanks for you reply Goat

Our arrival time isn't the best of timings mid November.....didn't want to be messing about moving around xmas and new year.....

We have looked at all the rental sites and majority of the areas and are aware of the problems moving from the UK into a rental are, my post is just on the off chance of finding something from a source off this website.....I appreciate your comments and it may end up being just like that.......

Cheers

Let me know how you get on. OH wont let me book until house is sold. How is your daughters feeling about moving now it is getting closer?

Think you might be better off asking this question by starting your own thread, I started this one to try and find accomodation for myself and my family.....but thanks for bumping me anyhow...

We have just been around the estate agents to discuss renting and the process etc. The 4 agents we spoke to all said that the rental market in October to end November is always the busiest for some reason. they also advised us that they generally only do open days and not private viewings.

They all reckon it can take about 4 weeks to get a rental if you see one you like and we were advised to keep looking on their websites and register ourselves on any open viewings, they all gave us application forms to fill in but they cannot accept them until we are in the country. With regards to ID etc ideally you should have before you leave the UK, references from previous landlords or mortgage statement, AUZ bank account, letter from your new employer in Auz, passport and driving licence.

They did say that without a letter from an employer in Auz that some landlords will not rent.
