Guest ElaineB
After traveling back and forth over the past six years my husband and I are hoping to migrate to Western Australia within the next 3 - 4 years. We have no idea what type of visa we would be eligible for - if any. My sister-in-law has just gained her citizenship - I am not sure if this would go any way towards helping. My husband owns an Insurance Brokers and has done for the past 7 years. He is a fully qualified Financial Adviser, with the equivalent of a degree. But this is not something he wishes to continue doing; we want to start up our own business (with S-I-L) in the tourism/event sector, its quite unique and I think it would be successful. Does anyone know what visa we would apply for? Should we wait until my sister-in-law has the business up and running and then ask her to sponsor us? I really haven't a clue!!! Any help would be appreciated.
jackboots
Hello Elaine , can't help re; your visa question .. but just wanted to say hello and welcme to PP .. have you contacted a migration agent just for a chat and to ask where you stand and your choices ? if you get some feed back that way you can decide wether to use an agent or go it alone .. Guest ElaineB
Thanks for your reply. It is quite a difficult situation and yes it had crossed my mind to speak to an agent - though due to the complexity, I thought they may want to charge me up front. Someone had suggested applying under my husbands current qualifications; when I did a test on the points system however, we only scored 90! I will keep everything crossed that someone can figure out a soloution for us.
Give me a break!
Elaine a reputable agent wont charge you for your initial advise they only charge you if you go on to employ them. Try some like Go Matilda who we used, the more complex the case the more you do need to speak with an agent I would say. It is possible to get family sponsership but that takes a really long time I beleive, but there is also business visa's and all different ones. Good luck:wubclub:
