Car hire

Hey all - hope someone can help. Have been in Perth for about 3 weeks now, trying to find work and get visas sorted. The problem I have is hire cars. I booked one from redspot before coming over, at $850 for 3 weeks. I've just extended this for another 3 weeks, but at a further $850 it seems to be a rather expensive way of getting around.

Does anyone know where a non resident could go to get a longer term (3 months at least) hire car at a slightly better rate. As I am only on a tourist visa at present I cannot buy or lease from dealerships.

All help is hugely appreciated.

Andy

Mindarie car hire, you can find the number on the net and the prices. I had a car for a few months until I bought my cheap runaround, they have a range from sml car to bigger vehicles. They gave me a good price for having it longer than a few weeks.

It is north of perth near ocean keys shopping centre.

Hope this helps.

Liz

Im kind of in the same spot, and have decided to buy a cheap runaround instead. for between $500 and $1000 you should be able to buy a car on perth dot gumtree dot com dot au, with rego till dec at least. I saw one yesterday, and if my wife wasnt so picky on the colour i would have taken it. It was a nissan pulsar, wee dent on it, but still driveable. after my car arrives, id be selling it anyway, so wouldnt be a great loss..... just something to think about.

Just back online now, so thought id add a wee bit, i picked up a toyotta corolla fx for $600 dollars, runs perfectly fine, no problems, have driven from joondalup in the north down to mandurah and back without any issues. So you can get a decent car for a runaround if required. (the car is 22 years old and so doesn't have power steering, but i can live with that.) anyway, just though id mention that not all cars in that price range are death traps...
