derham
Hi Can anyone let me know what happens to your UK pnsion contributions when you move to Austrlia?
Guest timevans
You need to have paid NI contributions for 30-years to receive the full state pension, if you leave the UK before paying the full contributions you can make additional voluntary contributions while living abroad to make up the short-full. You can claim your state pension entitlement while living overseas. Disclaimer this is my understanding after reading the HMRC websites and may not be 100% correct. Here are some links from Direct GOV and the HMRC website that should help you: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/BritonsLivingAbroad/BeforeYouGo/DG_4000018 http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Pensionsandretirementplanning/StatePension/Basicstatepension/DG_10026714 http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/cnr/osc.htm Tim
