derham
Hi Can anyone let me know how many hours a construction site Manager/Project manager works in the Perth area. I been told some horror stories of working 10 to 14 hrs a day plus travel over 6 and 7 days. Is this correct?

Greg
They love their work over here; holidays (less than UK) are for wimps. Saturday is considered part of the working week. Sites start anywhere between 6 and 7 am depending on restrictions. If you work away you will work generally 12 hours a day 13 days straight (13 day fortnight). derham
Hard choice, Longer hours, high cost of living, house and car prices sky high. Might not be the best move after all!!!!
PerthPomToBe
It is the quality of the remaining time though in my opinion. At least when you do get time to do something, that chances are the weather will be on your side.
derham
That is a point but by the time you get in (between 7 and 8) and being up since dawn over 6 days you wont be fit for anything else no mater what the weather is like. I just don't fancy working the next 20years for 12-14hrs a day over 7 days for the same standard of living just to have better weather. Has anyone got any experience of how things have worked out for them?

"laid back" and "lifestyle" I am looking forward to finding out what they mean??
derham
I would take ''laid back and lifestyle" to mean good workinhg hours and conditions with time to spend with yor family!! But It will be good to see their interpretation. Dont get me wrong I dont mind hard work (as my wife will testify to the missed parent evening and kids days out) but do I want to uproot the kids for the same hassle I get here? Only time will tell.
