Guest vijnit
Hi The Commonwealth Bank Foreign Currency account sounds good though....do you know if you come back to the UK can you access your money in GBP from the UK as long as it has not been converted to AUSD or is it a one way street ie it moves into the account as GBP but can only move from there to AUSD it can't be drawn as cash back in the UK? thanks Candice Hi Candice, As far as i worked out, this account is a one way street - the money is transferred to Australia and sits in your AU commbank Foreign Currency account in pounds. It is disconnected from your "London transfer account" after the money has transferred over to Australia. I guess you could get them to transfer back, but knowing banks they would expect you to convert to AUD then back to pounds (like sending normal money from Australia to the UK). You would need to check with the bank on this, as i am not 100% on the reversal process. Vijay.
