Guest Amy Mimi Ross
De facto Visas make my head hurt. Hi guys just wanted to know if any one could help use out really, me and Matt have been together since July 2010, but only been living in Perth together since March this Year. Are we still able to apply for a defacto visa, as my 1st year working holiday visas runs out in January, He’s fine as he is an Aussie. Also what proof do you need other then joint bank accounts and rent agreements. Is it best to go with a company. Any help would be great. deanhewitt
Hi Amy We have had to do the same although we have been together longer that 14 months. It does state 12 months minimum and we have had to write a letter stating when we met, when we got engaged etc etc. We also had to send evidence ie our joint mortgage, council tax bill, copy of passports showing stamps on the same date when we have been on holiday. They may come back and ask us for photographs also but not heard as of yet. Hope this helps
welshie
I applied and was granted my De Facto visa in 2008. We had to provide proof of co-habitation for 12 months, although im sure that there is a clause stating that the period can we waived if there are special circumstances. I would maybe speak to an agent in your case. Good luck
ali
Supporting letters from family and friends. If you've done the 3 months country work you can apply for a second WHV. Perhaps provide letters of your having an ongoing relationship. You may find that you haven't enough proof with only 4 months living together. Alternatively, when your visa expires, your partner could return to the UK with you and live with you there in order to fulfill the requirements
