Which TRA Assessment for a Regional Sponsored (provisonal) 475?

Please help!

We are hoping to apply for a Regional Sponsored (provisonal visa) 475. I have been looking on the TRA website and there are a few pathways:

  • Job Ready Program for International Student Graduates.
  • Offshore Skills Assessment Program for permanent migration.
  • TRA Migration Skills Assessment for permanent migration.
  • Temporary Workers seeking a Skills Assessment (457).

Confused now - Obviously wouldn't be the Job Ready Program or the 457 Skills Assessment. However, the other 2 options are for permanent migration and the 475 which we are hoping to go for is only a provisonal visa!

Hi Sue

I have just been down the 475 visa route and had it granted in August - the conditions are that you live for 2 years and work for 1 year and then you can apply for a residency visa. Perth is now classed as a regional area so the restrictions on a regional sponsored provisional visa (475) are not as bad. We are heading out June 2012.

Hi Blackpool3,

I am little confused about regional classification of Perth. Please check http://www.migration.wa.gov.au/rsms/Pages/RegionalclassificationforPerth-12September.aspx

Here it is written that "Applicants who are successful in gaining a State Sponsored visa for the Skilled regional Sponsored (Provisional) visa (Subclass 475 or 487) are still required to live and work in a regional area of Western Australia outside of Perth."

I am also planning to come to WA through subclass 475 visa. Can I stay in Perth? If I stay then after 2 years they will accept my PR application?

Hi - It is very misleading - when this initially came out our agent told us we were ok to live anywhere on a 475 visa - but as the link you provided states if you are state sponsored then you have to live for 2 years & work for 1 year in a regional area of Perth. We are moving out 28th June to Mandurah as this is outside of the Perth Metro area. Once you have satisfied the conditions of the regional sponsored visa then you can apply for PR and then live anywhere. Hope this helps. Anything else I can help you with please feel free to ask.

Regards

Steve
