Visa 3 year rule

Just got my 475 visa through in August and it gives me 3 years to live/work in Australia - we are not coming out until June 2012 (flights booked for when my son finishes school) I hear that you can get an extension so that you get 3 years from initial entry - anyone confirm if this is the case & how you go about

Cheers

Steve

Hi im having to come down to oz in November just to validate my kids visas, then we all need to be back buy the end of next year as that will be five years out of country and it states that you can only be out the country for five years. Anyone know of a way we could put it off for a couple of years without the loss of our perm visas.

Cheers

Blackpool why dont you apply for PR at year 2?

You have to meet:-to have lived in Regional Australia for 2 years;

-to have worked full-time (any occupation) in Regional Australia for 1 year; and

-not have been convicted of any serious offences.

This was the statement we got from our agent as we are considering the 475 if I can't get all eights on my IELTS now that Perth has been classed as regional.
