Guest Villa
Hi All, Was looking at some of the outdoor cinemas in Perth. Looks like a good idea and something different to do on a school night as opposed to going to the pub (again). Anyone have any experiences of them? Keen to know what the atmosphere is like. I like the idea of lying on a rug watching a movie outside (how romantic!). Thanks in advance for your info, Steve
phil
Not been this year yet. But when I've been before, they're a great night out.

Guest Villa
Thanks mate. Looks like I'll be giving it a go. Something I wouldn't have done at home anyway. Just to add, I went to the Gold Lounge at the Reading Cinema in Belmont the other week and it was fantastic. Big reclining leather seats and a button on the table that calls the waiter to bring you drinks. Actually, why aren't I going back there? leedslass123
The Burswood one is really good, but I would advise to book the beanbags (very Comfy ) or you can take a blanket or low chairs etc I would also say take some mozzie spray as its by the water after dark it can be bad for getting bitten You can buy wine/beer, cheese & crackers or even pre order Dominos Pizza, or even take yoour own snacks in, cinema tickets are about $8 (money goes to charity) and I think the bean bags are around $5? All in all a good night out under the stars Link is http://www.moviesbyburswood.com/Page/Home
Guest Villa
Cheers leedslass, I might try that one another time but this week will either be the one in Kings Park http://www.moonlight.com.au/home.php?location=Perth or the new one in Leederville http://www.luna.com.au/index.php?cin=cinemas&cinema=6 which has a jazz, movie and oyster evening on Thursday which was the night I was planning to go. That being said, looking at the weather outside, I don't think any outdoor activity is on the cards this week!

Guest kateeherren
We went to the new one at Bassendean last week which was great. Not many people there so heaps of room to spread out and enjoy. Its run by the same people as Movies By Burswood and they give proceeds to charity which is a bonus. You can take in whatever food you like, just not alcohol but there is a bar. We also found a lovely little cafe just round the corner called Red Poppy's that was open late for a coffee afterwards. Enjoy!
RobynMargarat
The Kwinina recreation centre used to have something like that. was very popular, and was mostly frequented by families... Not many Drive in theaters left in the metropolitan area unfortunately, Dvd`s and video clubs ousted them. Had a bit of a laugh to the thread before me.. was that an invitation to meet people. Nothing to stop any of you doing that as long as no one charges you anything to get in. found this when I went looking... oin our Coming Attractions Mailing List Here

NOW SHOWING

12th January - 25th January 2012

(Note: Movie times are subject to change without notice

Phone Number: 9409 9664 for the latest details) NO EFTPOS FACILITIES

Gates Open - 6.15pm Movie Starts - 7.45pm

Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday Friday - Saturday - Sunday

7.45pm ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS CHIP WRECKED (G) 7.45pm ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS CHIP WRECKED (G)

 Plus after Interval

 MONTE CARLO (PG)

Adults $9.00 Adults $10.00

Children 4 to 12 $4.00 Children 4 to 12 $5.00

Children under 4 free Children under 4 free

BARGAIN DAY TUESDAY $15.00 PER CAR . fti.asn.au this is also a place for you to look, film and theater institute, look for BohemiaFrom December 2011 to March 2012 the City of Fremantle and the Film & Television Institute WA (FTI) is making the iconic Bohemia Outdoor Cinema available ... oops sorry it looks like shouting.....
