Guest Fyrish
We have been considering Secret harbour but i've heard conflicting news on Comet bay and the ratings seem high (138 in WA), have you any experience of the schools in the area? also are there any home and land developments in the secret harbour area? We are visiting Comet Bay College when we validate in February. It seems to be it has improved greatly since new headmaster came in.

nadia and scott
Clarkson. How do you think of the area? What are the good and bad points? hi there, we were only there for 3 weeks. there are some nice parts and some not so nice parts. Some of the houses are very close together with little or no garden space. It doesnt have the best reputation. Our friends daughter went to the high school there for a day and ended up in tears!! pupils swearing at teachers and smoking drugs. It does offer a railway station and bus station. The house prices seem to be cheaper there though. hope this is of help. like i said we were only there for 3 weeks we are now in quinns rocks, which is lovely. My wife was looking at Clarkson because there are schools for both of them near by. Are there any decent High Schools in the Quinns Rock area that you know of please? Quinns Rock, Ocean Reef are indeed nice areas !! Ocean Reef is quite expensive to buy /rent. Quinns is not too bad, there are some cheap and some expensive rentals but the area is lovely. There are no state high schools in quinns, Calrkson is the catchment school at the moment although there is Mindarie senior college for your eldest not sure if public or private. Kinross has a really good reputation for their high school but you will need to be in the catchment area and not many rentals come up in this area. There is a brand new high school being built in Butler, but wont be open till the begining of 2013. There are also private schools based in quinns ( this is the option our friends have went for) not cheap but cheaper than the uk. They are Peter Moyes and quinns baptist college. When are you planning on coming over? hope info is helpfull Nadia

How's Quinns? x We are really enjoying Quinns, not too far from anything. 5 minutes to beach , park over the road 10 minutes to school (all walking). Alchimos looks nice too, we went up to have a nosey at the show homes, Lovely!! Nadia x

nadia and scott
"Kinross College offers a wide and varied curriculum and an extensive range of exciting extra-curricula activities. Many opportunities exist for our students to broaden their horizons and explore their potential. Students in Years 6 and 7 (the Junior School) are housed in one learning community overseen by a Primary Deputy and classroom teachers. Unlike most primary schools they have full access to specialist teachers and facilities. Students in Years 8 to 10 move between specialist and generalist areas. The curriculum is overseen by Heads of Department. Curriculum delivery is based on the needs of individual students with relationships and academic rigor at the centre. Kinross College students progress to Mindarie Senior College for Years 11 and 12. The development of a school based academic extension program in Mathematics and Science began with Year 8 students in 2011 and has expanded to Year 9 in 2012. Kinross College has an innovative and extensive iPad program with each Year 10 student eligible for an iPad for school use. Many parents of students in other years have also taken the option to equip their children with iPads to take advantage of the technology support available at Kinross as have our teachers" I especially like the part about the I PAD!!! Was it just a case of getting a sticker and passport stamped or do you have to resit a test? if its a uk drivers license its straightforward, turn up with your passport with the visa stamp in it along with ID eg medicard and bank card and a copy of your lease agreement. Guest Jillie14
This website was so informative for us when we were moving, so like to return the favour. We are getting on great , feels like we have always been here! I didn't use this forum before we came as I found information from a friend that was living here - however still wish I'd known about it then! Now that I do and I'm here (arrived 16th December 2011) and have found out about it I am happy to help out and share knowledge and information too. I'm just new to forum sites, so found it a bit daunting at first as I've only just got to grips with facebook lol! - but happy to answer any questions if I can too. I want everyone to enjoy their new lives and arrive here as well informed as possible as it is such a difficult and traumatic thing to do when you are over in the UK as you have so many fears and doubts, that if I can do anything to make people's move go more smoothly then I
