Guest ChrisMich
Can I please get some advice!? A couple of my sons Christmas gifts didn't arrive on time before we migrated here. My sis has agreed to post them over to me but what's the ruling on receiving gifts from family who no doubt will want to send birthday gifts etc? Also if I were to get my sis to send me things from UK (thinking some children's clothing) will I get hammered with import tax if they are of 'low value'? Thanks

Guest Catnoehughes
Just make sure its written on the package what the contents are. I've gotten numerous packages and presents posted from home to here and not had any trouble with them. They would have contained things like clothes, jewelllery (costume), perfume etc... Guest ChrisMich
I had to ditch some last minute things at my sisters ( our cases were way over!!) but seems shame o eave them, plus OHs birthday coming up. How long does a 'small' package take to get over here from UK?
Guest Catnoehughes
I'd say they'd be fine to post them if you state presents on the package. I'm guessing UK will be the same as Ireland, its takes about a week to post stuff over
Guest Stu
I'd say don't count on any packages being delivered on time no matter where they are getting sent from. I've had things sent from Singapore which arrived in 3/4 days, things sent from Sydney and Melbourne which averaged between 3 days to 4 weeks, and things sent from the UK which have ranged between 1 and 4 months! My mum sent me a large envelope sized package in Jan from the UK for my birthday(end of Feb). I recieved half way through June!
