I can only tell you who not to use (which actually I can't as I don't think I'm allowed to).

However, Go Matilda usually comes recommended - cost varies but possibly £2k-ish (not including the actual visa application).

Thought about doing it yourself? That's what I did in the end, after flushing money down the toilet.

Brill. i've been looking for a sponsored visa but no success so am looking at doing my own, just not sure if my quals/experience cover the visa i can apply for.....its a bit confusing. I have qualifications as a carpenter but want to apply as a project builder - as i have been a Construction site manager in the UK for over 15 years............

Best talk to a Migration expert then and see where you stand. Don't have to get them to do the application, but most offer a free (or reasonable) consultation.

Hi SKIPPY59 we used Darren Chatt at VISA-GO in Edinburgh, both he and his wife Deanne were brilliant.

HI We have a had a quote includes skills assessment, visa cost, english test, meds, police checks - for a 176 visa = £4475 - sound ok to you? Just worried that we will pay all this money out and not get a job at the end of it.................I'm a Construction Site Manager here so equates to a Foreman/Supervisor in Oz - lots of experience but no degree.

Also wondering if we should go for a 457 visa as i believe this is slightly cheaper but its only a temporary measure........oh what to do?????

That sounds about right - make sure that's a guaranteed price, not a price "per work done".

Eg. we were quoted a price, then after not getting much done, were told all our credit was used - that's when I told them to bog off and do it myself (note: this isn't about Concept that you referred to).

WRT a 457 visa - the 457 is a sponsored visa. It certainly gets you out there more quickly, but then you are tied to the compnay. If they get rid of you (or if you want to leave), then bye-bye Oz (unless you find alternative sponsorship very quickly - 28 days I think it is?).

Depends on your family situation. You certainly might not get a job at the end of the 176 process (like me - hmpph!), but it makes you more employable out there - after all, you've done all the hard work and there's no cost to the company. Plus, you have 5 years with which to find a job (a year to activate, then a further 4 years).

Sounds about right, we payed for ours all separate £1500 to the agent visa was £1000 , meds and police checks were about £800,state sponsorship £200, ielts exam roughly £115 , tra £300 . We started r process in 2007 . Why don't u call some agents and get price quote be careful as there is a few dodgy ones u don't have to be in the same area as ur agent . Good luck
