I know no one will care but ......

IKNWC but we went to see a car today and it's awesome. It's an import so needs some admin and some checks. We're going to put some new wheels on and maybe get some pin-striping done so a couple of weeks and we can pick it up.

So that's the practical one out of the way, now I want to get one just for fun...

Hi Portlaunay, I'm hoping that was in response to my post? Sorry to hear that you've been out of work since Nov., I guess it's not a great time especially for freshers here to be looking for jobs. Many thanks for the suggestion, to Lou8670 too, I'm a Communications Manager and my husband's an IT Project Manager specialising in colour management (fashion industry). While searching for jobs we're trying to top up our skills/knowledge by attending workshops and are finding it quite useful too.

It's not great to be in IT here, there's very little investment in tech in comparison to Europe and a lot of companies really seem to lack vision or commitment to developing in this area. That said, I am working now (in augmented reality), and there is some interest but you really have to be explicit about the ROI.

Networking is really important so getting out to trade fairs, conferences and as many events in your field as you can is often the best route in. Keep going, it won't always be like this.

Thanks so much for the support and advice, we've been attending a few networking events but probably need to do more. Pleased to hear that you're working now and wow, augmented reality! Hope it turns out really well.

Oh no. The outlaws lol. Hold your breath and count to ten.

Life is good. I'm cold though. Can't believe how cold it is especially when the sun goes in. And I'm from the north west lol. I've only got sandals as all my shoes are in the container and wearing socks with sandals is not an option lol. Been to the beach for a little bit and the park at Mullaloo. Then we went for some lunch at the dome there which was nice. And we went to see some kangaroos. Going to the city today. For jumpers ha ha ha.

Skyped the kids last night and my oldest was wiping tears from his eyes. It was soul destroying. Just wanted to jump back on the plane and go home. But he's coming to visit me in January with his girlfriend so it won't be too long before we see him.

The cold was more dramatic than the heat for me, I can't wait for summer to come around again.

Hope you'e enjoying your adventure.

I am enjoying it but there's so much to do. I've applied for a tfn. And that's about it pmsl. I need a car desperately but don't know where to start. My ex husband was in the car business and always sorted my cars out for me. I think once I've got a car I can sort everything else out easily. Aarrrggggh.

If you're able to manage without one for a couple of weeks you're welcome to use ours. We're buying a new one but it'll take a couple of weeks to get it ordered and ready for the road. Once that's done you're welcome to ours for as long as it takes to get on your feet. Sorry, I realise it doesn't help you right now.

I'm on my way to meet my son's father for the last time before we leave. It's only the second time we will have spoken about the move since we told him last August. I've no idea what he wants to talk about and for some reason I'm terrified :-\

I hope this went well for you Deb it must of been a bit unsettling for you x

sorry just seen your reply glad it was ok x

we bought our car from Manheim auction, its a massive car auction place but you can buy them before the auction as well, we did.

they have ex government and council cars so usually well serviced and they give you some warranty as well. ours was ex water corporation, nothing fancy but clean and well looked after. have a look and see it they have anything suitable http://www.manheim.com.au

Thanks, the last time we spoke it went badly. He made out he was fine about it, then came to the meeting armed with what he thought was ammunition following conversations with a solicitor. Unfortunately he had just spoken to his cousin, who isn't a very good solicitor and he was armed with lots of incorrect information and it went downhill from there. I really didn't know what to expect this time, but I was pleasantly surprised. He's accepted that Ethan will come back when he wants and he's going to continue to pay maintenance for him, which is more than I had expected. I feel sorry for him, I think he's finally realised just how much he's missed out on and there isn't anything he can do about it now. I'm still consider myself lucky though, that's the only family drama we've had. Everyone else has been a dream so fingers crossed it's plain sailing for the last few weeks ?

Good to hear that Deb... perhaps Ethan and his Dad will now have a more meaningful relationship because of the distance between them. "Dad" will have to put more effort into keeping in touch and I am sure this will mean lots to Ethan.

That would be good, they even asked if I'd help them find accommodation and plan a visit if they were to come and have a holiday next year, which is a big thing as they're die hard Spain and Florida fans ?

Is it like My kitchen rules? I loved that [emoji4]

I don't know?! House Rules is 6 couples who compete each week doing up one another's houses, they're judged and eliminate and at the end the winner has their mortgage paid off. Tbh though they're all winners as they all get their house redone for free!
