IKNWC buuuut I can't stop checking my email - I've emailed about jobs in WA and it's been a week alread and no reply - they've normally been snappy with the replies but not this time and I'm desperate! Let me get out there NOW!!

No news is good news.....right? :)

Hopefully, you will be inundated with offers of your brilliance xx

IKNWC but I'd better get on with the packing! I've been awake 2 hours and although it's only just after 7am I can hear the kids playing outside next door! The day certainly starts earlier here and I've been procrastinating for too long already!

I hope the move goes well and smoothly @Lou8670 and nowt gets broken, damaged or lost xx

Met our new neighbour to be last night. He spoke to us ::shocked:: So not SH he too is renovating invited us in and showed us around. Mind of useful advice. Think we got the better deal to the extent of work ....

Time will tell as one job always leads to another 2 before,1st job can get done ....

It's not SH Elfie; I have some fabulous friends in SH but I too have some rubbish neighbours! A few weeks after we moved in one of them popped round, banged on the front door and launched into one 'F' ing and blinding about a few cars parked in the road (because our drive had just been poured and we couldn't park on it and neither could our friends who'd popped round for a BBQ). We were quite shocked! It was the first time we'd met her so not a warm welcome! She was British too! As she walked away I said we were going to have all the neighbours round once the house was finished but now she wouldn't be welcome. I was disgusted with the attitude and the language tbh when all she needed to do was be polite.

Unfortunately she's friendly with 2 of the other 4 neighbours who now won't even acknowledge us now and one visibly sticks her nose in the air and walks past me whilst her toddler shouts that's she's seen me (her toddler is always knocking on my door to see if my daughter can go out and play). I find the situation quite bizarre but tbh I can't be bothered to make the effort with them particularly as we're moving. Sad really as in our last house we were really good friends with all our neighbours. Hopefully we'll both have some lovely ones where we're moving to

funny before coming on here I was thinking I wonder what the neighbours will be like, we have super neighbours here, no noise always help etc., it's the noise that bothers me more, music in the garden, screaming kids, arguing , this is why son moved. Oh dear talk about wobbles

I have to say, we have the best neighbours here than we've ever had. We had a big street get together at the park just before Christmas and it was just like a seen from neighbours. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, we've only been here 3 months. The next door neighbours have adopted the children as surrogate grandparents, buying them treats and Christmas Presents. Think when we eventually move, they'll have to move with us, lol! Most of them are Australian by the way whom I'd always been led to believe weren't interested in making real friendships.

Perhaps Lou it is the area of SH which we live in? In the older time worn elite inner golf course island. I cant stand the place maybe not the place but the people - as said for some its good for us its not. We have found though the majority of the Brits who have been for a long time are the worst, they seem to cause the most noise! I have a 3 strikes and your out policy will say hi 3 times if ignored then your dead to me ..............

Am wondering now if I have seen said swearing person in question does she have a fluffy toilet brush dog haha SH is cliquey if your not of it then you arent ever going to be. I will say the older Aussies are the better neighbour alas they are few and far between in our area.

My new to be neighbour other side of renovating Steve is an elderly lady yet to meet.

In the UK we had our neighbours for 19 years before we moved the best ever. They look after our empty up for sale house along with my MIL and FIL.

One of my friends in the UK was quiet put out that our neighbour when we moved in didnt bring round a cake or a pie as in the tv series Neighbours hmmmmmmmmm lol. Trying to explain that it was not like Neighbours to her took a bit of time. Thing is she is super intelligent again they say theres a thin line between a genius and a mad man or woman in this case ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Oh dear @odies, I think we might be those people! We don't argue often but my kids are noisy buggers, always arguing!!! Take one away and the other two play lovely together!

@Shirleyt so pleased you have lovely neighbours! We shall have to see what our new ones are like!

@elfie they are all Brits in my culd-a-sac. There was some snobbery towards my children by the neighbours children when we moved in because we were renting. That really annoyed my hubby and I was quite shocked at the fact they were looking down on us for renting! They have no idea what our financial situation is and what we can or can't afford! Tbh we were conservative with what we rented! We've bought a fabulous house down at The Break so as far as I'm concerned they can stick it!!! I'm not a snob, far from it! I have friends who've had to pull out all the stops to buy over here and have just managed to afford an old 4x2 doer upper in Warnbro that needs loads of work. (I'm a little jealous in a way as I'd love a project like that). They are lovely people and that's all that matters!

We have a few friends in Golf Island...a family of Brits who are also moving to The Break and an Aussie family who've been amazing. I feel like I've always been destined to meet them and that I've known them all my life!!! About 50% of my friends here are Aussie and they're all amazing! Very supportive and will do anything to help you out. We have a great group of Aussie friends helping us over the weekend and the kids are going to another Aussie friends to play whilst her hubby helps us move house. I do feel very blessed. As they say look after those that look after you and forget the rest xxx
