Redsquare
IKNWC but we've just been through our clothes. They were put into 3 piles. Charity shop, will do for now and good enough for Oz. Needless to say, after 2 years of scrimping and saving, our 30kg luggage allowance will not be an issue. In fact, the 7kg hand luggage should suffice. Redsquare
If you're coming this week don't throw out those chunky knits just yet, it's blooming freezing! Should be over late September when it'll hopefully be warming up. I've kept a few jumpers just in case and I'll ship out the winter duvet. Can't believe it's hotter in Blighty for the the first time this year. Might make 30 degrees today!

Levi
Reviving this thread because..... IKNWC but if all goes to plan, this time in six months will be my last day in a job I hate!! Cannot wait to the day I can hand in my notice and watch the looks on their faces! Nikkis, would you tell me in a PM what your job is? I cannot imagine how someone could hate their job. verystormy
Nikkis, would you tell me in a PM what your job is? I cannot imagine how someone could hate their job. You dont know my game. I would say most of the geo's that have been in it a long time hate it with a passion. When i was a young grad starting out i was chatting to a guy i was working with who had been in it 20 odd years and had a couple of kids approaching uni age. I asked him if he was going to encourage her to follow in his footsteps. He looked at me coldly and said he would rather see her work on a street corner in a short skirt. And he meant it. Reason they do it - there are pretty limited options and which decrease with time. I actually still like it. Though i have moments when i dont and also times when i am homesick - 38 days is a long time away from home.
Nikkis2000
Nikkis, would you tell me in a PM what your job is? I cannot imagine how someone could hate their job. Hi Levi, I'm an ICT project manager and love the role, it's what our application to Oz is based on. I'm very good at my job but have grown to dislike the company I work for. I guess the term "familiarity breeds contempt" is quite apt in my situation. I have been with the company for 9 years and considered myself a loyal "lifer" until they started making some very questionable decisions a couple of years ago. If I were to finish this comment with another cliche it would be that I feel like "a rat deserting a sinking ship' and I would be going whether or not we emigrate!! We've got it all wrong really haven't we? Study when you're 18; seriously? I'd love to go back to uni now. Only now would I truly value the experience and opportunity. Need to get motivated...It would be like 'educating Rita' in my scenario, but you are never too old I guess....that bucket list is getting longer Porty!
