Furnished accomodations

No they aren't unless they are holiday lets which are hugely expensive. If you are on an expat deal then the company should be forking out for shipping there and back, bring your own stuff. That's what we did. We ended up staying though so didn't ship back.

There are furnished places but not many. Have a look on realestate.com.au. Probably more in the Western suburbs - e.g Claremont, City Beach etc. The alternative - there is IKEA in Perth and the charity shops sell furniture, pots and pans etc. Many unfurnished rentals come with oven, washer machine and dishwasher. Lots of second hand stuff on gumtree.com

Furnished places are rare, the ones that do come up are usually at the cheap or expensive end of the market.

Renting furniture is very expensive.

Kitting a rental out with new furniture would be the best option, there are plenty of good value furniture shops in Perth.

Establish a rental budget and be prepared to pay over the standard rental rates, especially for the nicer rentals.

My wife is a relocation agent and is always telling me about client's unrealistic expectations. This is the tightest rental market in close to a decade and it will not be getting better for the next few years. Trying to find the perfect rental can be a long drawn out affair. Most rental seekers will compromise, be it location or their budget.

Good Luck

There is a real shortage of furnished properties on the market. You will also find that furnished places advertised on places like REIWA and realestate.com.au have the furniture, but not things like linen, crockery and cutlery, and pots and pans.

Depending on what your budget is and whether your company is prepared to subsidise your rent, you may wish to look at holiday lets such as ours (click on the link in my signature) or Tracey's at www.ozhouserental.com, these might be suitable for what you're looking for.

Thanks. Bringing furniture from here might be an option ESP if we get a container. Might just fill it with idea furniture from here etc. so best bet is an unfurnished house. That way we can bring bikes etc with us. Thanks. X
