smilingsenthil
Hi, We are Singaporeans looking to move to Australia as we got our PR recently. We have been to few Australian cities like Sydney , Melbourne etc but never to Perth. In the little research I did in the last few months, I noticed that a huge amount of migration is happening predominantly to Perth than to other cities. Why Perth ??? Why not Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide , Brisbane etc ? In particular, those migrating from the UK seems to invariably choose Perth straightaway. I'm really curious to know the reason behind this as I actually noticed that there are very little jobs (and job market) in Perth when compared to huge opportunites available in Sydney and also real scarcity of houses in Perth (for rent) making the rentals as high as Sydney or even expensive than Sydney. Can you ppl share your reasoning for choosing Perth to other much developed cities like Sydney, Melbourne etc ? I'm considering Perth only because it's close to Singapore with same time zone but would like to know on what basis so many people are prefering that place instead of other cities in Australia. thanks

JaynBev
for us it was we did a reccie trip to Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane & Sydney & just fell in love with Perth over the others. Dont ask exactly what it was just something about the place felt right. Since moving here we've met people from the UK & also from within Aus who have said the same. We came here & just haven't wanted to leave.
verystormy
You might want to do a bit more research as job opportunities are greater in Perth than any other city in Australia. There is a lot of talk in Oz at the moment about multispeed economies and how WA and regional QLD carrying the rest of the country.
