I'm a plumber so will have to do the gap training courses over there , we're going to be looking NOR hopefully get kids settled in a school but finding it hard to see a place wher there is a good primary and secondary school. kinross looks good but very few rentals , clarkson would be ok but secondary has got bad reviews. butler has new hgh school being built, I've contacted headmaster who said only ready or year 8 's in early 2013 what, areas and jbs are ou guys after ??? Good Luck ian
debra
Hi Ian, We have our PR visa and just got back from validating them. Sean is a plasterer and I work with children with disabilities. We are also looking NOR we like Jindalee its a new suburb and has a nice feel to it. We saw the high school being built in Butler and its a long way off!! We have had a previous PR visa and our son went to Currambine primary and it was a very good school, also heard good views on Connolly and that is a much smaller school. I think the secondary schools will be harder to find! My daughter went to Belridge Senior school and was not overly happy there. Be careful to check the catchment areas for schools as you maybe closer to a school but be sent to one further away! There is a lot of building going on we have not been there for 6 years and so much had changed and grown !! Hope you get your co soon!! Gaz H
Hi guys my, I'm from Somerset. Weston-super-mare to be exact. My wife, myself an our 2 boys aged 3 and 1 are planning a move to Perth, I'm a refrigeration engineer by trade. Done all the ielts and trade recognition and should be submitting our skilled independent visa application this month, hopefully. Debbie how long did your visa take once submitted? Like you Ian I will probably have to do the gap training too. We are also looking at NOR. Done the east coast back in 2006 (pre children) don't know Perth at all. It just seems like the best option. Hope all goes well. Gaz.
Georgiajoemillie
Hi, mate i submitted my visa app on 31/03/12 and got a case officer appointed last Friday. they've asked for medicals and police checks so shouldn't be long now. Our agent said that WA SS is taking around 3-4 weeks now , it was 2 days when we submitted ours.everyones trying to get in before 1st July. ive been in contact with a plumber in Perth and our gap training is a 2 week course and 3.5 weeks for the gas!!! Good luck with your adventure ian
Gaz H
Thanks Ian, I suspect a little longer for independent visa but that's good news they are pushing them through quicker.

Hi Gaz, We have a state sponsored PR skilled visa 176, we applied in May 2011, got our Case officer 8/6/11 and got our visa 27/9/11, so not long at all and we had an extension to get our medicals done so could have been quicker!! If you apply online it is so much easier and quicker and you can keep a check on everything. We have done the East coast too the only area I would really like to go to is the South. Perth is lovely and we prefer WA as a place to live than the East. Keep us updated on the visa journey , All the best Debbie & co
Gaz H
Thanks Deb, that's pretty quick I am prepared for an 18 month wait at least, but looks like that could reduce significantly, I'll keep you posted.
