Hey guys, Edam good to see you achieved your goal, glad the kids are settling in, we're in the final stage of the house sale and more than ready to wave goodbye to a very chilly weston-super-mare. Should be over dec/jan.

Hiya, we live in Somerset and are moving to Perth (well south of Perth)

G'day, have you arrived yet? if so what do you think of winter?! If not when do you arrive?

I know Frome quite well, used to drive a truck out of Foster Yeoman in Mearhead.

What are your expectations of Perth, have you had a holiday here first?

We have holidayed in Oz for many years as have family I Sydney and visited Perth 20 years ago.

Suggested both daughters and families come out for a better life, to which they said if you do we will!

They all moved out and we were allowed out as parents (after paying 30,000 pounds!!!) and passing all

the tests.

Both girls hated the first 6 months and wanted home! (this is common!)

We are all now citizens after 7 years but my wife and I still miss the UK although we like it here so we

go back every year for 3 months in Perth's winter (if you can call it that!)

Have since bought a small flat in Street and will go back this winter (UK) winter as well as this may (25th)

Love the beaches weather and freedom for kids.

Dislike flies, too much heat, prices, drivers, no daylight saving and beer prices!!!

Please let us know if you need any advice or would like to meet up sometime,

we live in Tapping NOR near Joondalup.

Regards Eric & Flo.

PS. must seem like Victor Meldrew as both retired!

G'Day Eric & Flo,

Frome not us must have been another post. We're in Dulverton (Exmoor) and hope to be sold up by August.

Lived 34 years in Perth, mainly Marmion & Sorrento. Our daughter is just north of Wanneroo, so we'll stop at her place for a few weeks and then head on down to Mandurah.

You'll never get used to the flies, but the heat you'll get to enjoy (it takes time).

I look at Coles and Woolies websites and it amazes me how high prices have risen since we left 8 years ago. Even France was cheaper (we lived there for 4 years) and of course with the large range of supermarkets here in UK prices are by Aussie standards really cheap.

When we eventually get back to Oz we'd like to take you up on your offer to meet up and any other older PerthPoms.

'Ave a good one

Ive been living out in Sydney for over 20 years albeit with a 4 year return home to live in Taunton for 4 years from 2002-2006… still living in Sydney but just about to move to Perth with my wife (whos from Perth) and two young daughters. Im orginally from the Yeovil area though, raised and schooled in firstly Marston Magna/ Queen Camel but mainly Martock, so very close! Will miss Sydney dearly but looking forward to new adventures in Perth with my aussie girls!
