Dazling Daz
Hi all Does anyone know how long you could stop in the UK after you have activated your 176 permanent visa? Do you after be back in OZ within a certain time period or your visa expires? Cheers Daz

Guest Tamjb
Hello. It lasts for 5 years from the date it is granted. You have to go over to Oz by the date they specify (usually around 11 months from the date it's granted) to either move over there or just to have your visa validated. If you are not moving over within the first 11 months & choose to have visa validated (as we are) you then have a further 4 years before you have to move over permanently. The visa only lasts for 5 years from date it is granted whether you move to oz permanently or not. If you do move over within first 5 years, you can stay there forever as permanent resident, after 5 years you would have to apply for a 'right to return' visa should you wish to leave oz for holiday e.g. Hope that helps. JAK
If you have got your visa in your passport it will give you the date you have to enter Australia by.
Guest Tamjb
Sorry, meant to say that if you have it validated but then don't move over within following 4 years, it just expires & you have to start all over again!
