Meds and checks

Police check you fill in a form and send it off, costs about £35 each I think. Just asks where you've lived for the last 10 years and a couple of other easy questions.

Just done our medicals here in Perth. Booked an appointment, filled in the two forms (they tell you which ones) and take them along with your passport to the medical office.

You have your photo taken, an X-ray, blood test, urine test, sight test, weight, height and get prodded by a doctor and your heart and chest listened to.

Took about an hour from start to finish.

Hi, When you are allocated a case officer, you are requested to download a form for the police check and one for the medicals. The police check form needs information about where you have lived. Depending on where you have lived if it is abroad you may be requested to provide additional information. The medicals again asks for information about you and you take this form to a doctor that they recognise - again there is a website when you look at when the case officer is allocated. Once you go to the doctor you take the form undergo the routine questions and little exercises, blood test and chest X-ray. Over a couple of days they send the information off and its reviewed in OZ. If they need additional information then the case officer informs you and you go back to the doctor. My daughter needed an additional assessment so we had to go to a paediatrician of their choosing.

Hope this helps

Myself and husband had our medicals today in Edinburgh. Wasn't as bad as I expected blood test, X-ray, urine test and general medical questions

Hi Anyone and all,

Did you need to obtain any information/your personal medical notes from your own doctor to take with you to the 'special WA assessing Doctor'?

Do they ask if you have any medical history and if they do, is it worth taking any supporting info with you (notes from the doc and what medication you are on)

Hi

I think all of the above information is correct. My husband had all the medicals and a fitness test for the 457 visa. There was query over chest x-ray but as he had not been to any high risk country he didnt need it. Yes the PNC cost £35 each take about 7 days to come back you. You can access the form needed online download and print out. One tip though make sure you get a couple of passport pictures they will come in handy.

love n light

Ok, so now i'm concerned that I had one!!! Checked for lumps and such. I think our fees were around the £400 mark.

Hi, don't worry Linda@no9, my wife also had breast examination. We did ours at an e-clinic here in Greece, all done on line and uploaded instantly, so no danger of docs. getting lost in de post. Ours cost 400 euros for two adults and one child.

Hi this is an interesting thread.

We have a 2 year old and 4 month old. Does anyone know what med checks they will have to have?

Thanks
