Guest gill2610
The UK playgroups, where you can actually leave your children for a couple of mornings a week seem to not be available here in Perth? or maybe its just that I don't seem to be able to find them? There are nurseries for working mums, and baby groups where you stay with the children. I am expecting a new baby in a couple of months and would really like to find somewhere for my nearly 3 year old to go for a couple of mornings a week, to play and learn with other kids and that doesn't break the bank. Can anyone help? one stressed mum and bored child.

Guest gill2610
http://www.southbankmontessori.com.au/ How about this? Thank you very much for your reply. I have looked at this link but it seems to be more of a nursery for working mums and the day is quite long for a little one, I was just looking for a couple of mornings a week, but thanks again. Guest bec36
Have a look at http://www.playgroupaustralia.com.au/wa/ someone on here mentioned it on another thread. I'm hoping to find the same thing when we get out there hopefully at the end of this year. My little one is 2 & he goes to nursery here in the UK 2 mornings a week 9am-12pm. Hope it helps. Arwen
3+ schemes are run in some suburbs for the year before the start Kindy. Usually only 1 session a week but I guess you could go to a couple of different onces. I know of 3 in the northern suburbs, 1 at Duncraig Community Centre, 1 at Joondalup Family Centre and I believe somewhere in Hillarys have one too. Guest gill2610
Thank you for this link I will have a look and hopefully it will offer something. I looked at the Montosorri option but at $200 dollars for 2 morning that is more than I want to pay. There is 50% reduction option but that is still a lot of money I think. Plus long waiting lists. I don't live in the north, I am in Victoria Park and have been unable to find anything here. I am wondering if there are more english people in the North and therefore you get more options? I dont know. Thank you very much for your reply. Just want to say I love the name Arwen, it is my neices name and have never heard anyone else with the name before. At my school, the office know the local 3+ sessions. Worth a try. My name isn't actually Arwen, just obsessed with LOTR!

I have asked around, it seems to be that the private schools have pre Kindy, but again very expensive and long waiting lists. Being a first time mum I didn't realise about the school system, as having big problems getting a good school as well in the area that I live, I should have looked into it more but having his name down at 6 weeks I didnt think there would be problem. A very big lesson learnt too late. Yes LOTR is where my sister got the name, being a big fan.
jackboots
I used a council owned run .. long day care facility that also catered for half and full days .. unlike some you could also use it as occasional care ie mornings . Try and see ( google ) if there are any near you , i was very impressed unlike some and it was ran very strict and felt very safe my daughter loved it , bit to far away from you though ! Guest Butterfly1
Hi I am not sure if you have already found a place for your 3 year old. There is a new Montessori pre-school opening in February 2014 in Mt Lawley. They operate from 9-12 during term time only. The cost is $40/morning. Thank you for your reply and everyone else that replied. My son starts school next Feb 2013, so I have decided to leave it and just let him start in February. I would however be really interested to hear from anyone who knows someone or who themselves has children at East Victoria Priamary school, East Vic Park. Its not the school I wanted for my son but have been unable to get him into any other school. I am very worried as the results dont look good. If anyone knows anything good or bad please contact me. Thanks again. Edited September 5, 2015 by ali
