Philpom
Thanks for your reply. Can you please refer the names of some companies/recruitment agencies who are currently hiring. http://www.swanpersonnel.com.au/ http://www.bsptechnicalrecruitment.com.au/ http://www.techresources.com.au/list-jobs/16/Perth http://www.tecside.com.au/ http://www.ambitengineering.com.au/ http://www.execom.com.au/ There are other agencies but this should be plenty to get you started. As for engineering companies, I am not sure whether you want an office based role or site based on a construction project. If you are looking at site based roles, then maybe look at Leightons, CKJV, Downer, Monadelphous, RCR which are just a few off the top of my head. As for engineering consultancies, I would suggest going through the Yellow pages and picking them off there. Bigger companies in town are Clough, WorleyParsons, Ausenco, Lycopodium, Aurecon, Hatch, Fluor & SKM. There are obviously others but like I said just go through the yellow pages and get your CV off to them.
Lba1
I guess structural engineering in the residential sector is slow too. We have two small kids, so need to get a job secured before leaving the UK. Doesn't sound like this will be possible hope it does pick up. We hope to move out winter 2015 so fingers crossed. shresthaz
I am also a civil engineer with design experience. I have applied for several jobs but couple of them had already rejected while waiting response from the rest. But I am not that positive. Have heard that job market is down. Hopefully it will go up soon. Keeping my fingers crossed.
RoyS
The market have been worst as Australia is hitting the highest unemployment rate since last 2004. I have been out of jobs since last September, it's a hill climbing task if you've no WA experience.
