Charlie841
Hopefully off to Perth on sponsorship in the next few months. Any ideas on a good place to start off with a bit of life near the midland area?
Philpom
That's not easy to tell you as it depends on what you're looking for. If you want to be close to the beach, then you could go for northern suburbs and go Mitchell Fwy/Reid Hwy and be in Midland in under and hour. Alternatively, maybe look at suburbs like Ellenbrook, it's further away from Perth but a lot closer to Midland.
jackboots
Or the Hills area's like Kalamunda , High Wycombe , Maida Vale ( though not much happening here only ten mins drive to Midland ).. when you say bit of life do you mean Busy people etc or social etc , Guildford is nice ..Used to like a drive there to watch a polo match , near the winerys for days out and also slap bang near Midland . Philpom
I grew up in High Wycombe and my folks still live there. It's a quiet enough place. It's certainly a hell of a lot bigger now than when I grew up there. You could get some seni-rural type blocks in Maida Valve (not the home of the BBC). Guildford is lovely and has some beautiful old (by Australian standards) character houses, but unfortunately it tends to be in the flight path for the airport. I would recommend Kalamunda - 20 mins drive to Midland.
Scot01
I spent today walking from Mundaring to Kalamunda - I thought Kalamunda looked like a nice place to live - reasonably big but with a bit of character about it. Drove through Forrestfield on the way home and that's nice too. Use to work in Guildford - has some really nice parts.
Charlie841
Thanks I take it midland itself is not the best of places to live

Philpom
Thanks I take it midland itself is not the best of places to live Midland itself these days is pretty much comprised of businesses/shopping centres/industrial so you would more like look to nearby suburbs to live. You could still live in Midland, but choices are more than likely be more limited than other suburbs
