Hi Ian,

I used www.aveling.com,au and am pretty sure this is one of the main providers for all kinds of training relating to the construction industry. Tip - try the assessments first if you have worked in the construction industry as its pretty basic stuff and saves about 2 hours watching the vidios etc

Hi Ian,

I used this site http://bluedogtraining.com.au/ good thing with them is you can save your progress and keep going back to the test over a few nights, basically I just done a section per night to save me sitting through the full thing all at once......and there was no problems getting the card sent to my UK address.

Hi

Sorry I have a dumb question! My husband and I are currently waiting for our visa to come through and we havent done a lot fo research yet. Does my hubbie need a white card to work in Oz (Joiner), even after doing all of the Vetasses assessments?!

Thanks

Lisa

I know this thread is about year old now but i was wondering,do the guys in oz normally pay for this on there own or do there companies pay for this, lets just say over the years of doing such courses in the uk etc i have normally had an employer put me through these once they wanted me or while i had been working for them,as im new to oz im hoping or trying to think the same might happen here,i take it does not?

Maybe this sort of thing is holding me up from getting some of the jobs over there or sure is not helping,i did a search and there seems to be a lot of companies doing this,is there anyone you recommend and if so why,as i see there is differences in prices as well, cheaper the better for me i think

If you are familiar with construction sites in the UK, its the same sort of thing as the CSCS card, basically its just health & safety - you pay upfront yourself, but its not much, its an online coures, which I think you can't really fail as you just go back and redo the section you don't pass. Its only $65. If you work on a construction site you have to have one by law and don't think anyone will employ you without it.
