Guest Lisalab
Hi I have been living in mandurah the halls head suburb for 6 weeks and just wondering if anyone could recommend any clubs/ groups where we could meet people. I am 34 with 2 boys aged 10 and 6, we are loving mandurah but missing our large group of friends from back home. Any ideas or comments would be appreciated. Thanks for reading Lisa and family
Guest racheldarkesouthwood
Do you want to meet for coffee this week? I have a 10-year-old boy who would LOVE to meet your boys and I can point you in the right directions! Email me if this sounds like a plan - rachel@weddingideasmag.com Or we could go to the zoo next week? The kids can run off (under the watchful eye of my au pair) and it's a great day out. jamesw
Have you tried the Hyundai Stadium on a Friday night? Family friendly, cheap drinks and excellent food. Will cost you a membership fee of $2 for a year.

cassy
Hi Lisa, my daughter who is 11, goes to Halls head recreation centre on a thurs eve 6pm to play badminton. Its only for an hour and cost $5. The boys may meet new friends there. Its hard is'nt it. After a couple of months of us getting here, I was ready to jump on the plane home because she seemed so lonely.. Then all of a sudden she had made a lovely circle of friends.. It will come. verystormy
Try taking them to the WAFL. The last couple of games are coming up and it is a family day out with lots of kids and at end of each period the families go onto the pitch and kick a ball about. Guest notapom
Hi There The City of Mandurah has a 'Community Directory' with a whole range of community groups contact details - depending on what you are interested in I think there are a lot of groups - sporting clubs - arty groups etc... Aslo, the local papers that get delivered to your house should have a lot of info on what's happening in your area hope it's helpful! http://www.mandurah.wa.gov.au/commfinder-advanced.htm Hi I have been living in mandurah the halls head suburb for 6 weeks and just wondering if anyone could recommend any clubs/ groups where we could meet people. Guest Lisalab
Thanks so much guys I will look into those clubs and see what the boys want to do. We will get there I'm sure I've just started volunteering so I'm hoping to make some friends there and my boys are starting to make friends at school so joining some clubs may just be the icing On the cake lol. Thanks Lisa

cki2011
There are a few cub and scout packs in Mandurah which they can go to as well. Hello James We are moving to Mandurah in Jan 2013 and are looking for football teams for our two boys.... the eldest will be 14 and the youngest will be 11 when we get there.... the 11 year old has been scouted by manchester united and manchester city and has been training with Manchester city select team for the last 6 weeks and plays in the manchester premier for his age group and is at a very good standard so we are keen to get him in a team as soon as we get there do you have any sugestions for the best team to join.... Thanks
jamesw
In my opinion, the best team with the highest standard would be Mandurah City, who have junior teams that play in the state league. This season, both the under 14's and under 11's have 2 teams. Season starts again in April, but the trails are usually held in October. However, when you get here, let me know and I will introduce you to the junior football co-ordinater who can sort something out for you.
