Guest EKLennox
Hi all I'm planning a move to Perth towards the end of the year with work and am at a bit of a loss at to where I should live. I'll probably rent for a month, suss it out and decide when I get there. I am a single, 31 year old female, who will be working in the CBD. I'll be coming on my own and don't know anyone out there. I'm thinking a flat somewhere with cafes/bars/restaurants, good transport. Any thoughts?
jackboots
Hello and welcome to PP , not much help on where would suit you really , we do have a suburbs thread on here which offers a few ideas .. depending on your financial situation. Off the top off my head i would say subiaco or East perth those sort of places even the city itself, my sister used to live bang in the middle and loved it ! all the best and i hope others pop along with some advice for you
WeegieDave
For your age and work location and want for bars, coffee shops, restaurants etc I would defo recommend Mount Lawley. Its got a good vibe to it and has a bit of buzz about it at the weekend and is also very close to the CBD.
Scot01
agree with above - also Leederville also. Claremont may be, Fremantle. Have a look on gumtree - they advertise flat shares and I see ads for professionals rather than students.

Fremantle is cool but just depends on how close you want to be to the CBD as Fremantle is a bit out.

Guest EKLennox
That's a great start, thanks for all the tips. Lots of research to be done!
Guest racheldarkesouthwood
Hello! How exciting for you! I echo what the other have said re Gumtree. I live in South Perth, which is really close to the CBD. In fact you catch the ferry to work which would be amazing to do every day (and very cheap, at $1.70). South Perth is a beautiful area, right on the river and handy for both NOR and SOR, obviously. You could live in the city itself, but Mount Lawley, as someone else said, and Subiaco are really lovely too. Good luck and keep us posted. Guest Sarah Berry
Hiya... I would definitely recommend either Leederville or Northbridge.. grt bars, cafes, shops, bus routes in the CBD and a grt way to meet new people your age. Did it myself about 10 yrs back although only for a year. Good luck x
