Jemma S
Hi, my partner and I are moving BACK to Perth next week. We are flying out from Heathrow on Tuesday 18th September at 8.00pm with Singapore Airlines, we are then staying in Singapore for 2 nights and flying to Perth on the Sat 22nd at 1.00am. Just wondering if anybody else heading over is on either these flights?

Jemma S
Hi Debbie, thanks for you message, no definitely wouldn't fancy 10 hours , we had an 8 hr stop once before, the jet lag was awful! Hopefully won't be too bad this time getting 2 nights sleep somewhere in the same time zone as Perth :-). How are you finding Perth so far? We leave in 5 days and can't wait, althoygh it's kind of bittersweet, great to get there, but sad to leave family. I noticed from one of your other posts you're from Ireland, which part do you come from, my in- laws (to be) are Irish also?

We flew from Heathrow with Singapore Airlines Wednesday last week, but our flight was 11.30am and only had a two hour wait at Singapore. We travelled on the new double decker plan, most comfortable journey I have every had for a long haul flight, the 5 hours from Singapore to Perth on the older plane was torture compared to the 1st leg of the journey. Have a safe journey and enjoy your break in Singapore hope it helps with the jetlag, we found it really hard this time have only just started to have uninteruppted nites sleep. Best of luck for your new life in Perth x

Oh jemma ten hours was a killer and we were told in Ireland we could hire a lounge to shower and sleep for 150e and when we got there we were given 3 chairs and told to make the best of it for 90euro. no consideration that with had a child with us. but how and ever we are here a week now and finding it hard enough, would be easier if we had some friends made here, my partner is in work all day so its just me and my 8 year old son. I am originally from County Offaly.

Ah I'm sorry you're finding it hard, I know how if feels (having already done it once) But it really is a better life on so many levels! I think the first week or so is a bit like "Oh My God we're here!!! What have we done? It's sooo far away!" We don't have any kids for your son to play with but if you want to catch up when we arrive, let me know? Where are you living? We will be in the Northern suburbs/Joondalup area. Anyway hope you're starting to settle and enjoy it and maybe see you soon :-)

On the itinerary we have been sent its different to what it says on their site, which says must not exceed 32 kg if flying to Australia. Might have to give them a ring to find out for sure.
