Guest laura
We got copies of our UK records from our GP in the UK. I think it cost us a tenner for each person, to print off the computerised records (so not your complete records if they go back before things went computerised). Hope that helps. Guest Bob Tonnor
I just tried to get mine centralized to one doctor in Australia (i have lived in about 20 different locations in Australia and have MS), to do this you have to get your treating doctor to fill out a request form which is then posted to the 'old' doctor who then forwards the records on (no fee i think), a bit long winded. Does anyone know if this is the same proceedure if i am requesting records from the UK? Ten quid for photocopying? are your doctors related to solicitors! Guest Scotsparaman
Hi, my family and I moved out to Australia on the 31 December past. We went to our G.P the week before we left and asked them if we could take our records. For a small fee, £10 each the printed a condensed copy of our records to take with us to give to our new G.P. Dont know if thats any help.
Guest ChrisMich
You can't take your medical records out of the UK but it's common practice to get a summarised record (computer print out) for £10 max. If you ask for copies of your paper records, your GP can charge you up to £50 for the privilege. Most practices will have summarised your records, so things like any vacc & imms you have had, medications, operations, major illnesses etc. I know this because I currently work in a GP surgery.
