emmawild22
My hubby loves a good bitter....particularly boddingtons but will happily drink john smiths, tetleys, old speckled hen.etc. my question is what can.he drink as a substitute (what's the closest Ozzie brew to this) or where can u pick up bitters cheaply? He's not a lager lover but can do one or two but really wants something he can drink a few of without the gassieness of lager! Please help....from a beer widow
jjstorey
Try Dan Murphy's bottle shop. They have a great range of beers including British real ales like Old Speckled Hen, Bishops Finger etc. the crown and cushion in the city is meant to be a British pub and serves so called beers but they are cold and fizzy, so avoid them. Redrobbersdog
Hi Emma, I notice you are in Ellenbrook, my hubby drinks the Kilkenny and he says it a good pint of beer. Hope you're not a beer widow for too long

emmawild22
Ahh...are you in ellenbrook too? We're technically on aveley...moved here Friday! The Kilkenny seems to be the closet thing to a proper smooth bitter but can be expensive huh? He's been.on theJames squire stuff at home which is apparently ok. How long have you been.out here and what's your.story? :-)
Redrobbersdog
Hi Emma, we live in aveley too, Hubby arrived 18 months ago and me and daughter followed on 3 month later. We have settled in well and everything so far so good. Originally from Manchester. The Kilkenny is expensive so hubby only has it once in a while but closest proper beer on tap he's had. The Brook is a good place to meet people (beer drinkers!) and the kids club on a Wednesday steak night is great too. Dawn

Redrobbersdog
Seems like you got sorted and settled fairly easily which is good. We are camping in Kalbarri at the moment so I'll message you when we get back and see if your around for a drink. We met another lovely couple on here who have 3 girls who live in Ellenbrook too but with work and one thing and another we haven't had the chance to meet up again! Time flies when your having fun!
