My hubby loves a good bitter....particularly boddingtons but will happily drink john smiths, tetleys, old speckled hen.etc. my question is what can.he drink as a substitute (what's the closest Ozzie brew to this) or where can u pick up bitters cheaply? He's not a lager lover but can do one or two but really wants something he can drink a few of without the gassieness of lager! Please help....from a beer widow

Ahh...are you in ellenbrook too? We're technically on aveley...moved here Friday! The Kilkenny seems to be the closet thing to a proper smooth bitter but can be expensive huh? He's been.on theJames squire stuff at home which is apparently ok. How long have you been.out here and what's your.story? :-)

Hi Emma, we live in aveley too, Hubby arrived 18 months ago and me and daughter followed on 3 month later. We have settled in well and everything so far so good. Originally from Manchester.

The Kilkenny is expensive so hubby only has it once in a while but closest proper beer on tap he's had.

The Brook is a good place to meet people (beer drinkers!) and the kids club on a Wednesday steak night is great too.

Hi Emma, we really enjoy the area and have bought in Aveley now so were there for keeps.

Wow only Friday, when did you get to Oz? What made you choose ellenbrook?

There are quite a few Mancs in ellenbrook and aveley believe it or not! ;o) usually find them in The Brook! Haha!!! Typical Mancs.

Important question is if you're red or blue? ;o)

Hubby is originally from chadderton and I'm from Irlam.

There is me (37) Rob (42) and Anna (6, soon to be 7 next week!)

In all honesty, we were largely governed by childcare...we liked nor so phoned around and ellenbrook was one of the few places which had a vacancy.... we took a drive up here and liked the look of the area.....plus great for work as I'm bassendean and Rick is in kewdale. So weaccepted the spot and then started praying for a house to be secured! Lol

We lived In heals green (near the airport) but rick's brother lived in Eccles! And we're reds.....hope that suits lol!

Good news that there are fellow manca up this way...we've not met anyone yet so keen to make new friends! We're Emma (31), Rick (38) and jess (13 months) x

Seems like you got sorted and settled fairly easily which is good.

We are camping in Kalbarri at the moment so I'll message you when we get back and see if your around for a drink.

We met another lovely couple on here who have 3 girls who live in Ellenbrook too but with work and one thing and another we haven't had the chance to meet up again!

Time flies when your having fun!
